Aliança begins operating in Suape with three weekly cabotage calls

Aliança Navegação e Logística began cabotage operations on September 1 at the APM Terminals terminal in Suape, Pernambuco. The company’s entry into the facility expands its presence in the Northeast and strengthens the state’s maritime connections with different regions of the country.

The company will have three weekly calls at the terminal, integrated into the ALCT 1 services, on the South–North and North–South routes, and ALCT 2. The operation will transport food, paper and pulp, plastics, chemicals, machinery, and industrial inputs.

The service can also be combined with warehousing, distribution, and other modal stages, creating integrated logistics solutions for moving cargo.

The expansion takes place along a supply corridor in which ports in the South play a significant role. According to the sources consulted, 49% of the cargo transported by cabotage to the Northeast originates in the South. Cereals, seeds, and grains account for 13% of this flow, while plastics and paper and pulp each represent 11%.

The ports of Itapoá, Itajaí, Imbituba, and Navegantes in Santa Catarina handle 20% of the cargo destined for Suape. Some cargo originating at these facilities also proceeds to the Port of Pecém, in Ceará, which receives 11% of this flow.

In the opposite direction, the Northeast ships cargo such as salt, cement, and plastics by cabotage. Together, these products account for 45% of the goods leaving the region for other Brazilian states.

The APM Terminals terminal in Suape is described by the sources as 100% electrified and focused on cargo handling and distribution in the Suape Industrial Port Complex.
